Discover more ways to reach your goals with Peloton
Think of it as the closest you can get to having a Peloton instructor on call—and right there in the room with you while you sweat. Peloton IQ can help you plan the perfect personalized workout and routine, coach you through it, and then spotlight your performance, progress, and where you can improve. Altogether, it makes it easier than ever to get after—and achieve—your fitness goals. Here are all the details.
What Is Peloton IQ?
Peloton IQ encompasses a collection of software features that show up before, during, and after your workout to personalize and optimize your training so it’s perfectly tailored to help you meet your goals. Peloton IQ takes the guesswork out of your workout routine, providing guidance on which classes to take and exactly how to challenge yourself to take your performance to the next level. At the same time, your workouts will be more personal and customizable than ever before.
Peloton IQ will enhance your experience on all devices—including the new Peloton Cross Training Series, the Original Series, and the Peloton App—starting October 1, but its most advanced features come to life on the Cross Training Bike+, Tread+, and Row+. You’ll also need a Peloton All-Access Membership to access all Peloton content and applicable features on your Peloton device.
Peloton IQ Features Available On All Equipment
On any Peloton device, you can take advantage of the following new features of Peloton IQ.

Personalized Plans
It’s no easy feat to craft a workout routine that ticks all the recommended boxes (cardio, strength, and flexibility/mobility), works for your lifestyle, and helps you reach your fitness goals. Let Peloton IQ step in to help by arming you with a personalized workout plan. Choose from four goals: get stronger, support weight goals, boost cardio fitness, and promote longevity. Select which types of workouts you prefer, choose the number of days and for how long you want to work out, and specify your experience level. Peloton IQ will program a well-rounded weekly workout routine that flexes with your needs.
Cardio Performance Estimates (Bikes and Treads Only)
Looking for a ride or run that will let you take it easy or, on the other hand, push you to top your personal best Output? Peloton IQ can help you pick the perfect contender. Now, before you start a workout, Peloton IQ’s new cardio performance estimates—available on the Original or Cross Training Bikes and Treads—will predict your performance based on past rides, walks, or runs, and assign a personalized difficulty rating for the class you’re looking at. It’ll also give you some target metrics to shoot for, such as output and distance, so you have realistic and attainable short-term goals to chase during your workout. (Note: You’ll need to have completed at least three recent workouts of the same discipline to see cardio performance estimates.)

Weekly Insights
Each week, on your Profile page, Peloton IQ will deliver a set of data-driven insights and feedback based on your workout performance and routine, so you can feel good about your progress and consistency and get actionable tips on what to do next. For example, if you crushed your running goal last week, Peloton IQ might offer kudos and share tips on how to level up this week with longer or more intense treadmill workouts. (Note: You’ll need to have completed at least three recent non-meditation workouts to receive insights.)
Personalized Recommendations
Do you ever get lost inside Peloton’s vast workout library, wondering what class to take?Peloton IQ can help you decide which workout to tackle next. On your device’s Home screen, you’ll be greeted with data-driven daily suggestions for what to do next based on your goals, preferences, and workout history. (To receive personalized recommendations, you’ll need to make sure you’ve selected a fitness goal and that you’ve completed at least five recent non-meditation workouts.)
Peloton IQ Features Available On the Cross Training Bike+, Tread+, and Row+
When you work out on the Cross Training Bike+, Tread+, or Row+, you really get to see Peloton IQ shine—especially when you step into your strength.

Movement and Rep Tracking
One of the standout features exclusive to the Peloton Bike+, Tread+, and Row+ is the new front-facing Movement-Tracking Camera. This little lens unlocks the best of Peloton IQ, including rep tracking (which we’ll talk about here) and Form Feedback (more on that below). During any of the 2,000+ movement tracking-enabled strength workouts, the camera automatically counts every rep and tallies up total lifting volume as you go. In this way, Peloton IQ can help you stay focused on getting your workout done (no need to keep count!), be accountable (no cutting a set short!), and also level up when it makes sense (if you’re exceeding your rep target, it might be time to grab a heavier weight).
The Movement-Tracking Camera also allows you to see yourself on-screen during instructor-led or self-paced strength classes (more on those below), so you can watch as you crush squat reps alongside your favorite instructor, or keep an eye on the way you’re moving, the same way you might watch yourself in the weight room mirror. You have the option to change the size and placement of your video feed, for example, if you want to see more of yourself and less instructor, or vice versa.
Form Feedback
Strength training takes a lot of know-how, but with Peloton IQ, you can refine your technique and lift with confidence. Form Feedback offers individualized corrections to ensure you’re executing every rep flawlessly and help you avoid injury. Here’s how it works: With the Movement-Tracking Camera enabled, you’ll get real-time feedback on your exercise form during both instructor-led and self-paced strength workouts. During squats, for example, you might receive a written and audio cue to “keep your back straight” or “try to go a bit lower if you can.”
Looking for extra form guidance as you tackle new moves, or want to zone out and listen to the instructor’s playlist? You can customize the frequency of form cues you receive as well as the speaker volume, or turn them off completely, if you’d like.

Weight Rack and Suggested Weights
Deciding how much weight to lift isn’t always easy. Give Peloton IQ the details about which weights you have to work with—whether it’s a single pair of dumbbells or a fully equipped home gym—and it’ll help you pick the perfect one(s) every time. The virtual Weight Rack feature allows you to keep track of which weights you use for every rep, set, and exercise, and then enables Peloton IQ to offer tailored weight suggestions based on your performance and what you have available (think: for a bent-over row, use a 20lb dumbbell).
Keep at it, and Peloton IQ will tell you when to level up and give you a front-row seat to watch your strength progress over time. If you exceed your rep target for a certain exercise while maintaining good form, for example, you’ll be prompted to increase your weights for the next round. On the other hand, if your form needs improvement, you might be prompted to decrease your weight and focus on doing each rep correctly. Can’t remember how much weight you can overhead press? No problem—Peloton IQ does.

Self-Paced Strength Workouts
Some days, you might want to take a strength workout at your own pace, or lift while your favorite reality show plays on your TV. Other times, you just might not feel like taking an on-demand, instructor-led strength class—but you still want their expert guidance on which moves to do and for how many sets and reps. Enter: Peloton IQ’s new Self-Paced Strength workouts, which allow you to complete a guided strength workout, but on your own time.
Turn any on-demand instructor-led strength class into a self-paced strength workout, and you’ll be guided through the routine with video move demos, interval and rest timers, rep and set tracking, form feedback, and weight tracking and suggestions. If you’re missing Peloton instructors’ bangin’ playlists, just turn on one of the built-in radio stations to back your workout with some tunes.
You can also access self-paced workouts by using the Workout Generator—but more on that, next.

Strength Workout Generator
Too sore to squat today, or want to make sure you do plenty of bicep work? With Peloton IQ’s Workout Generator, you can create custom strength workouts that fit your needs at this exact moment in time.
Option one: Start from scratch and build your own perfect routine from the ground up. Option two: Turn any on-demand instructor-led strength class into a self-paced workout, and tweak the plan as you see fit. Option three: Tap Peloton IQ to generate a fresh workout based on your needs, using filters for muscles targeted, experience level, total time, available equipment, and whether or not you’d like to include a warm-up and/or cooldown stretch.
Whatever path you take, just hit play to take it as a self-paced strength workout. Peloton IQ will coach you through each move, give you real-time form feedback, and track your reps and weights used. And if you loved it, save the workout to do again later.
Strength Benchmarking
Have a favorite Lower Body Strength Class with Adrian that tests your legs like no other? Or an Arms & Shoulders Strength Class with Tunde that you come back to every week? With Peloton IQ, when you return again and again to the same strength workouts (either self-paced or instructor-led), you’ll be able to track your progress and see exactly how much stronger you’ve become. Peloton IQ will keep track of the percentage of rep targets you’ve hit, the amount of weight you’ve lifted (measured as total volume), and your total reps, and show you how those have trended over time.
Hands-Free Control
Mid-workout, when your hands are full of weights or you’re in the middle of a treadmill sprint, there’s now no need to interrupt your workout to hit pause or turn up the volume. The words “OK Peloton” unlock a long list of voice commands you can use to control your workout and access other Peloton IQ features, such as weight tracking.
How to Access Peloton IQ
If you’re already an All-Access member, you can tap into some Peloton IQ features—including personalized plans, weekly insights, and personalized recommendations—as long as you turn on the “Personalized Experience” toggle in the settings of the Peloton App or on your Peloton device.
That said, if you’d like to bring even more advanced features to your workout routine, you’ll need a piece of equipment from the Peloton Cross Training Series—namely, the Bike+, Tread+, and Row+—to take full advantage.
Finally, for even deeper insights, connect Apple Health, Garmin, or Fitbit to your Peloton account. This allows Peloton IQ to use your non-Peloton workout data to provide more personalized recommendations.
You can give the new Peloton Cross Training Series a test-spin at your local Peloton store or retail location, or book a virtual appointment with an expert.
