How to Clean Your Peloton

Keep your Bike and Tread pristine and safe.

If you're like most Members of our community, the convenience of having a Bike or Tread in your living room means you're probably working out now more than ever. Maybe you share your Peloton with your partner and kids, making your entire family's wellness a top priority. Regardless of whether you ride alone or with loved ones, keeping your equipment clean is the best way for everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In addition to providing how-to videos online, we recently turned to the experts (you!) to chime in with quick and easy ways to maintain a tidy workout environment at home. Here, our Members share their tricks for keeping their Pelotons in tip-top shape.

Nice and Easy

You do not need abrasive cleaning products to maintain a hygienic home gym; they’re specifically not good for use on Peloton hardware. “I have a Peloton and also work in their showroom and we clean the bike frame with Wise, a stainless steel cleaner, with a microfiber towel,” says Katie B. “Use Windex wipes for the screen and use a microfiber towel to wipe after.”

Hassle-Free Cleanup

The best way to clean up after an especially sweaty ride with Cody or Ally Love is to keep your cleaning supplies within arm's reach. “I keep a container of Clorox wipes in a basket next to the bike with my shoes and other supplies and wipe the whole thing down after each workout,” says Merisue P. “We had to do this at the gym so it seemed like a good idea.”

Baby Your Bike

According to our Members, one of the best products you can use to clean your bike is actually just a few bucks at any local drugstore. “When Peloton delivered and set up my bike they told me to clean it with baby wipes,” says Dana C. “When they were done setting up my bike, they cleaned it with baby wipes as well.”

Clean Like a Pro

“The showroom I went to uses OdoBan Disinfectant Spray so I bought that,” says Kallie P. “They told me to spray it on the towel and then wipe down the bike and it works great. I've barely made a dent in the bottle and just toss the towels in the laundry. I spray it directly on the mat beneath me too and it makes cleaning the floor easier.”

Spot Clean to Stay Spotless

“I use disinfecting wipes on the bike and I spray Windex on a cloth for the screen,” says Stephanie S. “And, yes, you will be needing to wipe it down but Power Zone rides and the challenges are so worth it!”
