By PelotonJanuary 9, 2023

Are you new to Peloton Tread and wondering where to start? With thousands of running and walking classes to choose from on-demand, you might feel uncertain about which ones will best match your abilities and goals. But that’s about to change: We’re introducing brand new Tread Beginner running classes, which will help you learn the basics and get comfortable with the hardware. And once you’ve got that down pat, Advanced Beginner classes will help you ease your way into the various efforts and intensities you’ll find in other running workouts.

All the Different Classes You Can Take on the Peloton Tread

Here are the different types of classes you can expect to find on your Peloton Tread moving forward:

Beginner Runs

Start here to learn the basics including speed, incline, and proper running form. You’ll get to know our hardware features and our world-class instructors as you gain the confidence to crush your workouts.

Advanced Beginner Runs

Ready for more? Level up with Advanced Beginner classes designed to build on the basics and coach you through new running skills and concepts. (Think intervals but without high inclines or excessive sprints, for example.)

Unleveled Runs

If a running class doesn’t have a skill label on it, it’s meant for Members at all levels of fitness. Your instructor will likely suggest intermediate speed ranges, but you’ll be encouraged to go at whatever pace feels right for you.

Advanced Runs

For seasoned runners looking to up their game, instructors in these classes coach to faster speeds and more challenging efforts. You got this!

Walk + Runs

These classes can be found under the walking category and are an excellent option for any type of Peloton Tread Member. Whether you’re just starting your running journey or are looking for an active recovery day, these classes are a perfect mix of walking and running. And just like the unleveled runs, these workouts can be easily modified to fit your personal needs.

Walking

Just because it’s a walk doesn’t mean this’ll be an easy workout! These low-impact, instructor-led classes are designed to get your heart pumping, no matter what fitness level you’re at. You’ve got plenty of options to try, including power walks, hikes, and music-themed classes (‘90s walks, anyone?). And if you’re away from your Peloton Tread but still want to get moving, be sure to check out one of our audio-only outdoor walking classes.

Remember: The difficulty labels on Peloton Tread classes follow the same progression you’ll find in classes for the Peloton Bike and Peloton Row. If you ever find yourself on a new piece of Peloton equipment and want to learn more about how to use it, a Beginner class is the perfect place to dive in.

Psst, here’s why the Peloton Tread is perfect for every type of runner.
