This Women’s History Month Camila Ramón and Mariana Fernández Celebrate Groundbreaking Artist Karol G with New Spanish Cycling and Yoga Classes

This fall Peloton expanded the breadth of its class content in Spanish by introducing Camila Ramón, the brand’s first cycling instructor to teach in Spanish. With Camila joining the team, Peloton extended the brand’s Spanish content from the mat to the bike. This month as we celebrate all of our women Members—from #germanladies to #UKLadiesPeloton to #PelotonMoms—we take a moment to highlight the powerful women in Peloton’s Latinx community with two, new Karol G classes taught by Camila and Mariana, both in Spanish.
Inspired by Strong Women
When reflecting on the influential women in her life Mariana Fernández shares: “I am surrounded by these fierce Latinas in our community that don't just talk the talk, they follow through with conviction. They show up. I've learned this from my grandmothers, my sisters, and my fellow Latinas. We keep climbing and lead by example. But always, cheering each other on in the process. Esa porra!”
“I come from strong women. My abuela is a farmer and a working-class woman, my mother an immigrant who left our family and her career behind to give us a better life. My mother's resilience and work ethic is ingrained in me. Professionally I know nothing but putting in the work, respecting others and building a better life for my family like the women before me have,” shares Peloton Instructor Camila Ramón.
Peloton Welcomes Back Empowering Artist Karol G
A reggaeton, R&B, and trap artist, Karol G is known for her strong feminine presence in these male-dominated genres. Born in Medellín, the Colombian singer/songwriter is predominantly known for her reggaeton and Latin trap sound. Karol G has steadily made a name for herself not only as a hitmaker but as an innovator in the industry. At this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards, Karol G accepted the Rule Breaker Award, which honors female artists who use their music and platform to defy expectations.
Peloton Instructor Camila Ramón has felt Karol G’s influence first-hand stating: “As a woman in reggaeton, Karol G disrupted the industry and stepped out of the box by being her most authentic self, which not only elevated her as an artist, but also currently encourages all women, including myself, to celebrate themselves unapologetically.”
Peloton Instructor Mariana Fernández echoes the sentiment, sharing: “Not only is Karol G leaving her mark and imprint on a male dominated music genre, she is also unapologetic about her style and vision for her art. For so long Latinas had to "crossover" or sing in both languages in order to become mainstream. Karol G has defied that and allows the music to speak for itself.”
