Finish Stronger: Peloton brings the power of Cross-Training to the GENERALI BERLIN MARATHON
Peloton continues SCC EVENTS partnership with a focus on cross-training, personalization and expert coaching for the ultimate race-day edge
BERLIN, March 19th, 2026 – Germany’s "running boom" is in full swing, with the GENERALI BERLINER HALBMARATHON 2026 completely sold out. In its third year of partnership with SCC EVENTS, Peloton is evolving how runners prepare for race day by focusing on "cross-training", the essential combination of cardio and strength, to ensure runners of all levels reach the start line stronger and injury-free.
A Shift in Training Culture: Building a Stronger Foundation
As a long-established leader in cardio training, Peloton is now placing an even greater emphasis on the critical role of strength in a runner’s routine. While many focus solely on mileage, athletes are increasingly adding strength workouts to boost performance and prevent injury. A shift reflected in Peloton’s data, where strength has become the second most popular workout among German members.
To support the thousands of athletes preparing for the GENERALI BERLINER HALBMARATHON, Peloton provides comprehensive training via a single platform. Through its premium at-home fitness equipment, including the Cross Training Series Peloton Bike, Bike+, and Tread (treadmill), members can transition seamlessly from intensive cardio to floor-based strength and mobility. Beyond equipment, members access thousands of live and on-demand classes, including specialized race programming designed for every major distance. This offering ranges from "You Can Run" techniques for beginners to the comprehensive "Road to Half Marathon" 10-week program, a proven approach, as over 300,000 members globally have already trained for a race with Peloton. By combining world-class equipment with tailored coaching, Peloton provides the total preparation needed to move from the first mile to the half marathon finish line.
"For many runners, the true hurdle isn't race day, but the weeks of training leading up to it, where the fear of injury or self-doubt can start to creep in," explains Martin Richter, General Manager of Peloton Germany and Austria. "By evolving our partnership with SCC EVENTS, we are moving beyond just motivation. We are providing the expert coaching and smart guidance runners need to stay healthy, balanced, and confident. Our goal is to ensure that when you finally stand at that starting line, you feel strong and ready to embrace every one of those 21.0975 kilometers."
Christian Jost, Managing Director of SCC EVENTS, also welcomes this evolution: "Our participants are preparing in a more informed and digital way than ever before. We want to encourage that progress, and in Peloton, we have a partner that understands the athlete's training journey while providing the technology and human coaching needed to sustain it. Together, we are creating an even more supportive environment for everyone taking on the challenge of the GENERALI BERLINER HALBMARATHON."
The Best of Human Coaching Powered by Smart Technology
Peloton combines world-class instructors with an intelligent platform. Renowned German instructors like Jeffrey McEachern, Erik Jäger, Mayla Wedekind and Marcel Maurer provide the athletic foundation through expert running and strength classes. Supporting them is ‘Peloton IQ’, a virtual co-pilot that analyzes personal performance to create flexible weekly plans. Using predictive analysis, the system identifies if a cardio session will be "harder than usual" based on a runner’s previous performance metrics, helping runners adjust to their daily form and prevent overtraining.
From App to Asphalt: Run Club Tour and the TCS NYC Marathon
Whether training solo at home or on the live leaderboard, Peloton members are never alone. This year, the “Road to Berlin Half” tour brings this community to life with in-person run clubs in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Cologne, and Berlin. The journey culminates at the Race Expo, where visitors can test the Bike+ and Tread and enter an exclusive draw to win a starting spot for the TSC New York City Marathon. On race day, the motivation goes live at Kilometer 9, where a dedicated Peloton Cheer Zone at Leipziger Platz will provide the energy and support needed to power runners toward the finish line.
