It's no secret that working out with friends is a great way to meet your fitness goals. Maybe that's why our Members are so successful at staying motivated, regardless of whether they work out at 4 AM or 4 PM. Not only does our community have access to world-class instructors wherever and whenever they want, but Member groups and Tags are a great way to find accountability buddies and receive regular encouragement, even on busy days when life gets in the way.

“We know that, with groups, comes increased accountability,” says Los Angeles-based author and sports psychologist Michael Gervais. “A shared experience is something that our brain craves. It's twofold: One part is accountability and the second is having a shared experience. One of the benefits we receive from a shared experience is a neurochemical called oxytocin. Oxytocin is associated with bonding. The desire and need to belong cuts across most cultures and humans on the planet. It really touches us on a primal level.”

That said, we can't think of a better way to bond than by riding with millions of our closest Peloton friends. Here, our Members share how finding buddies through Peloton has helped them stay the course, regardless of where the road takes them.

Yanina L. (#Yanina_), Woburn, MD

“I will invent any excuse not to ride. Even a good hair day is a legitimate excuse for me. But I clip in anyway, and I’ve been doing it for two-and-a-half years. Sometimes, all it takes is 20 minutes like I did today with Alex Toussaint. It’s the community that makes me hop on the Bike. If you are looking for a community, if you are looking for support and accountability, join the instructors’ fan pages or accountability groups. You won’t regret it, and I promise you will be out of excuses, and you will never ride alone. My hair is now a mess, but I’ve never felt stronger. Peer pressure really works!”

Janel Z. (#janelmarie), Denville, NJ

“I've always been active but the difference this time is Peloton and my awesome accountability Tag #PMCT. Each month, we all set goals and support each other as we work to meet them. The gentle push is there when I don't feel like clipping in, and I wouldn't get through the pain cave on Tuesday morning Tabata without all the high fives from my people! My Peloton journey wouldn't be the same without you!”

Lisa A. (#prettyFNGritty), Boston, MA

“I have been an active member of the CDE Project since February 2019. I have found in Christine D’Ercole and her followers the most kind, compassionate, supportive, loving group of people I have ever known. This Bike brought me a family that is full of love and light. I have no words to adequately convey what this means to me.”

Have you explored the Peloton Tags feature yet? It’s another great way to find new accountability buddies and communities!
