Everything to Know About the New Peloton Cross Training Series
We’re breaking down all the new hardware features that make the Peloton Cross Training Series stand out from the rest.
By Team Peloton•
You deserve to have high expectations for your workouts: Moving your body should feel joyful, efficient, and effective—not boring, complicated, or monotonous. It helps when your fitness routine delivers an array of well-rounded workouts that build strength, boost your confidence, and deliver the results you’re after. And it shouldn’t require lots of free time or advanced fitness know-how, either.
All those “shoulds” around knowing exactly which exercises to do, how to do them, and how often in order to reach your health and fitness goals can feel daunting and time-consuming. But it doesn’t have to be.
That’s why we built the new Peloton Cross Training Series Powered by Peloton IQ.
What Is the Peloton Cross Training Series?
The Cross Training Series is the home to Peloton’s newest and most advanced equipment yet, designed to help you perform your best and build a well-rounded routine. Whether you’re training for a race or focusing on strength, the Cross Training Series will help you reach those goals by forming a personalized training plan that works for you.
More specifically, the Cross Training Series includes the new Peloton Bike+, Bike, Tread+, Tread, and Row+. Each piece of equipment has been upgraded with new features that make all those “shoulds” we mentioned above a reality. For example, the Swivel Screen, which is now available on every piece of equipment in the Cross Training Series, makes it possible to switch effortlessly from an instructor-led cardio class on your equipment to a guided strength session on your mat, allowing you to easily mix up your fitness routine and move seamlessly from one workout to the next. Meanwhile, personalized strength training on the Bike+, Tread+, and Row+, enabled by the Movement-Tracking Camera, lets you lift more confidently and effectively thanks to helpful real-time Form Feedback, Rep Tracking, and more. (We’ll dive into more new features to know in just a minute.)
All these new features (and several others) are powered by Peloton IQ, the smart software behind these next-level tools. (While available on all equipment, Peloton IQ’s most advanced features come to life on Bike+, Tread+ and Row+. You can read all about it in our complete guide to Peloton IQ.)
Put simply? You can think of the Cross Training Series as your fitness coach and accountability buddy all in one—a workout partner that feels motivating and convenient, meshes well with your existing routine, and meets you where you are while helping you reach your goals.
What Makes the Peloton Cross Training Series Different?
There are several new features that set the Cross Training Series apart, but they all come together to help you build strength, maximize your performance, and ultimately meet your health and fitness goals.
Let’s start with the Swivel Screen. This HD screen has a more ergonomic design and rotates for a seamless transition from cardio to strength, yoga, or other floorwork classes, giving you an entire well-rounded workout routine with one piece of equipment.
For example, maybe you love walking and do it regularly, but you want to prioritize more strength training to feel your best and age healthily. With the Tread or Tread+, you could hop on for a 30-minute hike, hop off, rotate your screen, and take an instructor-led strength workout on your mat. Or perhaps you’re an avid cyclist who wants to incorporate more yoga and Pilates classes into your routine to mentally unwind and improve flexibility. With the Bike or Bike+, you could clip in for a quick ride, clip out, turn your screen, and knock out a yoga flow or Pilates workout.

And then there’s the Movement-Tracking Camera, available only on the Bike+, Tread+ and Row+. This high-tech camera helps you make the most out of your strength workouts by delivering real-time form correction, rep tracking, and weight suggestions, helping you lift smarter, hold yourself accountable, reduce injury risk, and progress appropriately through your fitness journey.
Let’s say, for instance, you’re cranking out weighted goblet squats in a lower body strength class. The Movement-Tracking Camera would automatically count how many reps you’ve done and provide Form Feedback (think: “Try to go a bit lower if you can” or “Keep your back straight as you squat”). If the Movement-Tracking Camera sees you’re exceeding your rep target with good form, you’ll get a recommendation to use heavier weights; conversely, if you consistently have poor form, you’ll receive a recommendation to decrease your reps so you can focus on nailing the proper form. All these elements come together to help you lift safely and effectively.

Not to be forgotten are all the features and accessories that make for an even more comfortable workout. Runners can go the extra mile (literally) thanks to a rubberized Slat Belt on the Tread+ that provides more cushion and energy return, and on the Bike and Bike+, cyclists will appreciate a comfortable saddle for a more pleasant ride. On the Bike+, Tread+, and Row+, the Fan keeps you cool even as you work up a sweat, while on the Bike+ and Tread+, your phone and other essentials now have a dedicated tray to stay secure as you move.

The Bike+, Tread+, and Row+ also include a new Hands-Free Control feature, making it much easier to interact with the screen when you’re off your equipment. For example, let’s say you’re following along with a Pilates class and want a longer mid-workout water break—all you need to do is say, “Hey Peloton, pause the class” for it to stop. Or if you’re flying through bicep curls during a strength session and want to swap in some heavier dumbbells, just say, “Hey Peloton, update my weights to 20 pounds” to track your reps easily and accurately.
Your ears also benefit from the Cross Training Series thanks to Front-Facing Speakers. On the Bike+, Tread+, and Row+, Sonos-tuned speakers—including a new woofer—deliver immersive, studio-quality sound that amplifies your workouts. At the same time, faster Wi-Fi and stronger Bluetooth® connections help you stay connected, so you can keep moving without missing a beat. And don’t worry: Member-loved features (like Auto-Resistance on the Bike+ or Free Mode on the Tread+, for example) aren’t going anywhere.
The cherry on top? Everything we mentioned above is just a glimpse of what makes the Cross Training Series stand out. And remember, every piece of equipment in the Cross Training Series is powered by Peloton IQ, which unlocks lots of other helpful features that enable you to reach your goals even more effectively.
