Peloton Officially Launches in Australia

Today Peloton – the leading interactive fitness platform that pioneered connected, technology-enabled fitness – officially launches with Bike and Bike+ available for purchase, in addition to the Peloton App.
The day will excite thousands of Aussie fitness and technology fans who have pre-registered for more information, following Peloton’s initial announcement that it was heading Down Under.
Peloton Australia’s Country Manager, Karen Lawson, said the entire local Peloton team cannot wait to welcome Aussies today to its ever-growing community of 5.4 million global members.
“Australians are passionate about health and wellbeing and have always had their finger on the pulse when it comes to fitness technology and experiences, which is why we believe Peloton is positioned to provide Australians with a completely new way to work out.
"There is something for everyone; whether it’s a live ride from the comfort of their own home on a Bike, or a class taken anywhere they like to workout. Using the Peloton App, Aussies have access to thousands of live and on-demand classes, from more than 40 global instructors, be it a HIIT Cardio class by the beach or a guided meditation session in their backyard. We have so much to offer, as we look to redefine fitness in Australia,” said Lawson.
Local pricing and availability
The Peloton Bike and Bike+ cost $2,895 AUD and $3,695 AUD respectively. The All-Access Membership, which enables Members to access Peloton content using the Peloton Bike or Peloton Bike+ and create accounts for the entire household, is $59 AUD per month.
The Peloton App, which hosts an expansive library of content that requires no Peloton equipment, is included with the All-Access Membership. A standalone Digital Membership that requires no purchase of Peloton hardware is available for use by one person for $16.99 AUD per month, giving access to the thousands of live and on-demand classes via the Peloton App. The app will be available via iOS, Android and web, as well as Amazon Fire TV, Apple Watch, Chromecast, Android TV and Apple TV.
Peloton is set to soon announce the opening dates of its physical showrooms across key Australian locations, including Martin Place and Bondi Junction in Sydney, followed by Melbourne.
Australian content and instructors
Peloton’s first Australian-born instructor, Kirra Michel, originally hailing from Lennox Head, New South Wales, was formerly a dancer, rhythmic gymnast and surfer through childhood. She joins over 40 international Peloton instructors across all fitness disciplines with her particular focus on yoga. Kirra is passionate about the mental and physical challenge yoga brings and tries to make each of her classes an experience in authenticity and calm.
Workout To Over 100 Artist Series Classes
Peloton’s instructors each create a curated music playlist for every class they teach by selecting songs that work with the intensity, rhythm, flow and theme of the class.
Australian consumers can now choose from thousands of game-changing workouts with real-time motivation and playlists featuring their favourite artists, from from Beyoncé to Justin Bieber to Spice Girls to The Beatles.
“Music is an essential part of the Peloton experience. We have a dedicated music team who focus on programming that our Members will love or enjoy discovering, and they’re always looking at new opportunities to partner with locally relevant artists,” said Lawson.
Australians can purchase the Peloton Bike and Bike+ at onepeloton.com.au, both deliverable to Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and metropolitan areas.
