Peloton partners with the HOKA Hackney Half Marathon
Peloton strengthens its commitment to the UK running community, promoting the benefits of cross-training for race preparation and recovery.
Peloton has announced a new partnership with the HOKA Hackney Half Marathon, stepping in as the Official Cross Training Equipment Partner for the highly anticipated and sold-out event.
As the Official Cross Training Equipment Partner, Peloton will be on hand to help thousands of runners get race-ready. Peloton workouts, which are accessible on the Cross Training Series Bike, Bike+, Tread, and the Peloton App, span Strength, Running, Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, Stretching, Mobility and more. In the lead-up to the HOKA Hackney Half, famed for its picturesque East London route and lively atmosphere, participants will also be able to join special run clubs.
The Rise of Running and Strength
Running remains a booming activity in the UK with Sport England's Active Lives survey reporting that running numbers have increased by 349,000 compared to 12 months ago. Peloton is the perfect race preparation partner, offering tailored cross-training options to complement training for all major race distances. Already, more than 300,000 Peloton Members have trained for a running race using the platform.
Through the partnership, Peloton aims to demonstrate the benefits of cross-training – combining cardio and strength – which can deliver results for runners, including improved metabolic function, muscle growth, and respiratory fitness. Strength training is a highly popular workout among UK Peloton Members, ranking as the second most-chosen modality. In addition, Peloton Members who participate in Strength training do so frequently, averaging seven class workouts per month.
Personalised Training and Engaging Experiences
The Peloton Cross Training Series is designed to give runners smart, personalised training every step of the way, from race preparation to recovery. Runners of any level can utilise Peloton’s Bike, Bike+, and Tread to access Personalised Plans, as well as curated content and programmes (Peloton All Access Membership required to access Peloton content, £45 per month). These include the 10-week guided Road to Half Marathon programme, and Strength for Runners, a collection of classes designed to improve your running strength.
In the run-up to the HOKA Hackney Half Marathon, Peloton will host run clubs from Peloton Studios London. In addition, at select HOKA Hackney Half run club events, Peloton Instructors will feature and lead the warm-up and cool down. Finally, HOKA Hackney Half participants are invited to sample Peloton’s Strength content by booking a complimentary spot to take an on-demand, mat-based class at its London studio (available on Sundays only, based on availability).
During the event weekend, race participants can visit Peloton’s stand where there’ll be special competitions and the chance to try the Peloton Bike+ and Tread. Runners will also benefit from a dedicated Peloton cheer zone situated on the course near mile 9, providing live motivation.
HOKA Hackney Moves is a weekend-long celebration in East London with live music and community activations hosted at the festival event village on Hackney Marshes, centred around the centrepiece Hackney Half on Sunday 17 May 2026.
Susie Chan, Peloton Instructor and HOKA Hackney Half participant, said: "I'm excited to experience the race day atmosphere at the HOKA Hackney Half—I ran Hackney Half in its very first year back in 2014. This year I'm sure I will be slower, as I've got a bit older! My training focus over the years has shifted from solely running to one of future-proofing, which means incorporating strength and yoga, which I know will pay off when I race through the streets of east London in May."
Jade Davenport, Senior Partnerships Manager at Motiv Sports UK, added: “When we look at partnerships across the HOKA Hackney Half, and all of our events across the country, we strive to place real engagement and meaningful activation at the heart. This partnership with Peloton and the HOKA Hackney Half does exactly that, helping to give participants at the sell-out event access to the benefits of cross-training for race preparation and recovery.”
